Stop Noise Transfer in Calgary

Custom Assemblies That Reduces Noise transfer

If voices, TVs, or footsteps are travelling through walls, ceilings, or floors, the fix isn’t “sound panels.” It’s the right assembly, that’s why we identify the sound first, and then design custom soundproofing assemblies for homes, condos, and workplaces.

Soundproofing + Acoustical Consulting, Built Around Your Space—Where You Live and Work!

Soundproofing fails when people guess. We don’t; we identify the likely sound pass, whether it may be airborne, impact, and flanking, and then recommend a solution that matches your noise types, layout, constraints, and goals.

“Soundproofing isn’t a product, it’s a system.”

We identify how sound is travelling, then design the right assembly and specify the right materials for your space, so the solution matches the real noise path.

What Happens in a Consultation

A consultation is the fastest way to stop guessing. We’ll identify how sound is travelling in your space and map the most effective next step, before you invest in the wrong fix.

Describe the noise

What you hear + where it shows up.

Identify the path

Through the assembly + leaks (flanking).

Options that work

Practical scope choices – no gimmicks.

Clear next step

Scope direction first, pricing second.

Built for Real-World Conditions

No two buildings leak sound the same way. We adapt the solution to the space and not the other way around, so you don’t waste money treating the wrong surface.

What we Prioritize
Airtightness + Detailing
Correct assembly selection
Execution that respects the space

Calgary Soundproofing FAQ

Do you need to open the drywall?

Sometimes. Some issues can be improved with minimal disruption, like adding layers over top. While others require access to the assembly to solve properly.

Can you guarantee a specific rating (STC/IIC/NRC)?

In real buildings, we don’t guarantee a specific rating because job site conditions aren’t a lab. Existing assemblies, hidden detailing, and flanking paths (sound travelling around the wall/ceiling/floor) can change results even when the “right” materials are used.

If your project requires a target, we’ll recommend an assessment-driven approach: confirm the existing conditions, identify the dominant sound paths, and design a scope that aligns with the performance goal.

For new builds, we can follow published, lab-tested assemblies and build to those specifications, while still treating the final outcome as performance-guided, not guaranteed.

Is acoustic panels “soundproofing”?

Acoustic “soundproofing” panels can reduce echo inside a room, but it doesn’t stop neighbouring noise, transferring through your walls/ ceilings/ floors. They are made to improve a room’s acoustics, not block noise.

Why does soundproofing fail?

Most often, the main path wasn’t treated or sound is flanking around the treated area. There’s no such thing as “spot” soundproofing, that’s why a proper diagnosis prevents an expensive disappointment.

Airborne versus impact noise, what's the difference?

Voices/TV are typical airborne sounds, while footsteps/dropped objects are typically impact noises. Many spaces have both issues and therefore need multiple products to address the different types of noise. Also, low-frequency base sounds behave like both airborne and impact due to the large frequency waves that create structure-borne noise.

What do you need from me before we talk?

A short description of the noise (type and where the noise is coming from), photos if possible, and any constraints or details (condo rules, finished vs open ceilings, access limits).
