Calgary Soundproofing FAQ

Do you serve my area in the Calgary region?

Yes, Calgary plus nearby communities. If you’re outside the court area, send your location and we’ll confirm it.

Do you work with builders, designers, and architects?

Yes. We helped find priorities, reduce flanking risks, and keep assemblies billable before drywall goes up.

As acoustical contractors and soundproofing specialists, our team collaborates with yours.

Can you help if we're already in mid-build?

Yes. We can assist even as early as the blueprint phase by defining priorities or flagging flanking paths and more. The earlier we’re involved, the more options you have, but we can still reduce risk at framing and pre-drywall phases as well.

Do you do "soundproofing without drywall removal"?

Sometimes depending on goals and constraints. Share your space and noise type and will recommend realistic options.

If you’re referring to our Dense Fill solution, this service is only offered by our Toronto team.

What do you need to recommend scope?

Room type, noise, type, build stage, and any constraints (condo, rules, access, timeline). Photos help, and blueprint drawings are great!

How can I reduce the noise coming from my basement in Calgary?

Basement noise often stems from footsteps or conversations. To reduce noise, we install dense insulation and isolation layers. We offer tiered solutions, with the first being the more budget friendly to more impressive soundproofing systems. The effectiveness of your sound barrier will depend on the extent of your efforts.

Is it possible to soundproof a condo without violating any rules?

Yes, as long as the condo board approves and we follow the condo guidelines, this is great for bedrooms, home offices, and dealing with noisy neighbours.

What are some effective ways to block bass noise?

Bass noise requires heavy layers and isolation to prevent vibration. Our assemblies feature vibration isolation systems to reduce rumbling and shaking caused by musical instruments, home theatre surround sound systems, and other media rooms.

All low frequencies below 125 Hz are bass sounds. They act as impact noises and create structure-borne noise.

What is the cost of soundproofing in the Calgary Metropolitan Area (CMA)?

Costs differ based on room size and noise type, as our recommended assemblies change based on noise types and sound barrier level goals. Each project has unique noise concerns, so we provide customized acoustical consultation.

Our service starts at $2,900 for smaller projects. A phone consultation can give you project options, cost estimates, and sound barrier options within your budget.

What is the difference between soundproofing and acoustic panels?

Soundproofing and acoustic panels serve distinct purposes. Soundproofing enhances noise reduction by adding mass, sealing gaps, and isolating surfaces, preventing unwanted sounds from entering or exiting a room.

Conversely, acoustic panels improve room acoustics by absorbing echoes and enhancing clarity, without blocking external noise. We provide both soundproofing and acoustic product installations.

Do you soundproof clinics, offices, and studios?

Yes, we install privacy and noise-control systems for clinics, studios, offices, and more. We can often achieve significant noise reduction within a day with minimal downtime for your business.

Do you handle mechanical noise (HVAC/plumbing)?

We can help identify likely paths and recommend practical control strategies or next-step assessments. We install a variety of products to deal with different types of mechanical noise issues.
